The Captain

The Captain by James F. Wright

Weathered and weary, dazed and confused in distress.
Out here lookin for answers, sailing on a prayer.
My vessels been driftin, waves are crashing down.
And my radio signals, answer if you hear my call.

Oh master this is the captain, I've been steering this old ship wrong.
Are you really out there? Think I'm lost in storm, in a storm.

Can you hear me are you there, givens got me terrified does anybody care?
Tell me are you there at all, sending out this SOS, can you hear my call?

And the minutes they turn to hours, they turn to days.
I'm waiting and watching the swells as they come my way.
And the minutes they turn to hours, they turn to days.
I'm waiting and watching the swells as they come my way.

Can you hear me, are you there, givens got me terrified does anybody care.
Tell me are you there at all, sending out this message, can you hear my call?

Weathered and weary, dazed and confused in distress.
Out here lookin for answers, sailing on a prayer.
My vessels been driftin, waves are crashing down.
And my radio signals, is anybody there at all?

Oh master this is the captain, I've been steering this old ship wrong.
Tell me are you really out there; think I'm lost in storm, in a storm.

Weathered and weary, dazed and confused I confess.
Out here lookin for answers, sailing on a prayer.
